June 24th - 27th, 2019
Wisconsin 4-H & Youth Conference is an opportunity for youth in 7-10th grades to participate in a wide variety of assemblies, seminars, and service projects meant to provide a pre-college experience that will focus on personal development, broadening of interests, and developing new skills. This year’s WI 4-H & Youth Conference will be held June 24-27, 2019 on the UW Madison Campus. A Registration Handbook and more information can be found at: https://fyi.extension.wisc.edu/wi4hedopp/wisconsin-4-h-youth-conference/
This year’s theme is “Prism of Possibilities.” We hope to bring together over 400 youth leaders from around the state and when they leave conference we trust they will exemplify teamwork and the power of a united group. Just as a prism takes in white light and separates it into a rainbow, turning something one directional into an encompassing sea of color, we believe “Prism of Possibilities” encourages us to bring all of our ideas and experiences together, develop them into real-world goals, and spread them throughout Wisconsin to help better our communities.
Through participation in Wisconsin 4-H & Youth Conference participants will:
- Experience active learning in a safe and supportive campus atmosphere
- Strengthen life skills through new experiences that promote personal growth
- Exchange ideas and form friendships with youth and adults from around Wisconsin
- Inspire action in your organization, neighborhood, school, and community
- Learn about various youth development opportunities and explore future educational and career opportunities
Wisconsin 4-H & Youth Conference is open to 7th-10th grade youth involved in any University of Wisconsin-Extension Programs. While many participants are 4-H members, many others are not. This is an opportunity for youth from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences to come together to exchange ideas, form friendships, and learn important life skills for contributing to their communities.
The cost for this year’s WI 4-H & Youth Conference is $300 and includes the educational program, lodging and meals from Monday afternoon through Thursday morning, bus transportation from various locations around the state, and a conference T shirt. Your local extension office will be able to provide more details on the financial arrangements available in your county. There will be need-based scholarships available for those who cost may be a barrier. Confidential requests can be made to Justin Lieck at Justin.firstname.lastname@example.org.
