2024 Sawyer County Household Hazardous Waste & Medication Collection

- Items accepted free of charge to households include Oil-based paint, solvents, pesticides and herbicides, batteries (rechargeable ni-cad, metal halide and button only), corrosives, flammables, mercury, old gas, hazardous household cleaners and antifreeze, and others. Maximum of 70 lbs. per household. No motor oil or vehicle batteries will be accepted.
- Medication/Sharps Collection on site: Dispose of all expired, unused, or unwanted medications; leave in labeled containers. Medical sharps (needles) must be in a red sharps container, a thick-walled plastic detergent container, or a bleach bottle with a screw top. Sharps in other containers will not be accepted for safety reasons. For details call: 715-634-4806
- No paint exchange program will be offered this year. Latex paint will be sent home with the participant to be disposed of correctly at a regular landfill site.
- There will be a charge for fluorescent bulbs, high-density bulbs, and oil filters.
