Sawyer County Cleansweep

The NW Counties of Wisconsin host special mobile hazardous waste collections during the summer months and all county residents are encouraged to participate. The products accepted free of charge to households are: oil-based paint, antifreeze, pesticides and herbicides, batteries (no alkaline or car batteries accepted), household cleaners, old gasoline and aerosols. There is a nominal charge for items such as fluorescent and high-density light bulbs, and oil filters. Businesses and farmers are also encouraged to participate in these summer events. Agricultural/farm related products are is free of charge for the first 200 lbs. to farmers, with a nominal fee imposed for businesses. Pre-registration is required for both businesses and farmers.  Please call 715-635-2197 to pre-register


Hazardous Waste and Medication Collection coming up in Hayward and Spider Lake

When: July 28, 2018

Where: County Highway Department (14688W CTY Hwy. B Hayward, WI)  9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Where:  Spider Lake Recycling Center (10896W Town Hall Rd. Spider Lake, WI) 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Medication collection is offered at both sites.

Electronics will be referred to Republic Services in Hayward (16119 W Nursery Road, Hayward WI 54843, 715-634-3022)
